26th July 2010 - Happy DaysI qualified to solo Race Across America, coast to coast - San Diego to Atlantic City - 3500miles.
This is the toughest endurance race in the world with the intense heat and distance being the main challenge togther with strict times limits.
To obtain qualification you must complete over 425 miles in 24hours which I achieved at the UK 24hr, finishing again in the top 10 despite the high winds and rain on the Saturday with Sun arriving on Sunday together with 427 miles. The message is book your weekend break whenever I race as I am yet to have a perfect weekend. This season is starting to bear the fruits of success with top 10 finishes in all key events and I still have the national 12hour race in two weeks before setting off to the South of France to catch the sun and enjoy the mountains on the bike.
